On An Abounding Health Journey

Life is a journey. We grow through what we go through.

Each day is filled with thousands of little decisions that get us closer or take us further away from our destination.

Every human being desires to be happy and have good health.

Many conscientiously or unconscientiously make decisions, especially in health and diet that effect their well-being.

Even the quality in which food is prepared can effect our health.

The way we chew our food to the way it’s digested can have a major impact on the body’s ability to produce healthy cells.

Even the type of thoughts that are dwelt upon can suppress or strengthen the immune system.

It can be a bit overwhelming thinking about all these things, but every decision matters.

The key to being successful and progressive in health is to keep things simple.

Every Day Make A Conscientious Choice To Be A Healthy Person.

It starts with a made up mind to be healthy.

We all have the freedom every day to choose to be the healthiest version of ourselves.

God said, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and they seed may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19

God gave us a choice, and then He included a recommendation.

He would rather us choose life and blessings.

Unfortunately, He knows everyone will not choose life and blessings.

The word blessing in this scripture means:

1) help and approval from God;

2) something that helps you or brings happiness.

God wants us to make spiritual, mental, financial, relational, and physical decisions that will help us and bring happiness.

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2

We all may not have a million dollars in our bank account; however, we can make wise financial decisions.

A person can be given a million dollars and lose it, if they don’t know how to manage and reproduce money.

The lack of knowledge or our bad decisions can rob us of financial peace and happiness.

This principle applies to any area of our lives.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10

Sometimes our worst enemy is in our mind.

Correct Unhealthful Thinking. Develop Habits That Will Bless You And Others.

Thoughts become behavior. Repeated behavior become habits.

Our lifestyle choices can have a direct influence on the state of our minds, our bodies, & our relationships.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, (present our lifestyle and lifestyle choices)

…holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

…And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

…that ye may prove what is that

…good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2

Are your lifestyle choices holy and acceptable unto God?

Do you consult God before making a life decision?

Do you seek to know what He thinks?

There are circumstances that are out of our control, but we do have control of our decisions.

We can choose how we will think, respond, and behave.

How we think and process things can be transformed.

We can train and educate our minds to be conscientiously healthy.

Thoughts (words) are like a seed planted in our mind gardens.

“On the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart (mind),

…having heard the word (God’s thoughts),

…keep it (obeyed God’s words),

…and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15

If we are patient and faithful we’ll experience the benefits of applying the knowledge we get from God.

We must plant God’s principles in our minds.

Allowing His thoughts to become our thoughts. His ways to become our ways.

We must uproot any dysfunctional thoughts (negative words or anything that God didn’t say) that will hinder the growth of God’s health principles.

Make those thoughts a reality.

No matter the circumstances that are around us, choose to live a healthy, happy vibrant-life.

With Change There Must Be Changes.

Change may seem difficult at times.

In the strength of Jesus Christ we are

FREE!

Walk in your freedom and say,

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11

If you apply the knowledge you have obtained, then you will be able to make the necessary changes to obtain better health and a greater degree of peace.

When you begin to make mental, nutritional, and physical changes your faith will be tested.

You will meet with opposition.

With understanding comes increased faith. Faith will move you to action despite what happens.

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” James 1:3″

Expect opposition. Don’t let it deter you from increasing your ability to pray, love, bless, and do good to others. More importantly don’t let it stop you from loving and honoring God.

Persevere to improve your spiritual, mental, physical, and nutritional needs.

Trusting that “now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous; nevertheless afterward

…it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto those who are exercised thereby.” Hebrews 12:11

Everybody may not understand the benefits of your health journey.

Some people you hang around and do certain things with may not be supportive of your change.

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18

Hate sounds like a strong word.

The word, in the Greek, means to detest (especially to persecute); by extension, to love less.

Everybody in the world doesn’t hate you. The average person around the world doesn’t know you exist.

The people in your world do.

Your family….closest friends….co-workers…neighbors…or church members can say or do things against us.

It doesn’t mean that they love you less. They may dislike your decisions and the path you’ve taken.

Sometimes they can be used to discourage and even distract us from changing.

There response doesn’t always mean they hate you. They may not understand their words and influence are not helping you.

It’s a transition for you and them.

Be willing to pray for them and forgiven them for they know not what they do.

Remember, if you do not have the full support of those in your world, resist the temptation to harbor hurt and bitterness towards them in your heart.

It’s very important that you do not cause unnecessary stress.

Stress is not good for your health– and maybe worse than eating unhealthy foods and lack of regular exercise.

Don’t force your convictions on anybody else. Until you are able to educate those around you, it may not be possible to do exactly what you want nutritionally.

In the meantime, nothing can stop you from doing what you must do physically and mentally.

You can’t change a person’s heart. Only God can change a person’s heart.

Set healthy boundaries, live your convictions, and leave people in God’s hands.

Through sunshine or gloom, live your lifestyle.

The relationships in our lives will greatly benefit if we would take responsibility for the condition of our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Keep Learning, Growing, and Living.

It’s ok to not know all the answers as long as you know Who does.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5

Health is progressive. It’s a day by day journey.

We shouldn’t worry about tomorrow. Focus on getting through today.

One decision at a time.

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself…” Matthew 6:34

If we lack wisdom for today, God is more than willing to guide our steps in the right direction.

Don’t be afraid to ask Him. Be willing to learn and grow.

It brings joy to God’s heart when we are interested in what He has to say.

He wants to share His thoughts with us.

“God does not bestow help for tomorrow. He does not give His children all the directions for their life journey at once, lest they should become confused,

…He tells them just as much as they can remember and perform. The strength and wisdom imparted are for the present emergency.” DA p. 313

In conclusion, we all are on an abounding health journey.

On this progressive journey remember these three important points:

1.) Every day make a conscientious decision to be a healthy person.

2.) Correct unhealthful thinking. Develop habits that will benefit you and those around you.

3.) If you want change, then accept the changes.

4.) Keep learning, growing, and living.

Our lives on earth can be used to bring honor and glory to God .

God’s principles for a healthy, happy life will give us stamina to resist temptation, and the courage to wrestle successfully through the problems of life.

God never promised us a life without hardships, headaches, and pain.

What He does promise is that along the journey we can experience joy and blessings.

I hope this inspires you to keep abounding on your health journey.

Have a wonderful productive day in the Lord!

Stay Blessed,

Precious Joy Lowe
